A FAMILY PICNIC

posted Monday, 31 August 2009

Hey Y'all what a day we had on Sunday August 30th. It all started in Waterbury at the Cider House BBQ & Pub.  It was a celebration of Vermont's Marriage Equality sponsored by The Vermont Gay Tourism Association. We were invited to perform. They had a lot of good food out for everyone to enjoy. It was also a benefit for Vermont People with AIDS Coalition.

We told some of our Beaver Pond stories and sang some of our songs.  We had a lot fun meeting and making new friends.

The other performers for the day were Jason Lorber and Bill the Magician.

Here's Amber with Willie Docto, board member of VGTA.  He sent us a nice note...

LADIES,
Thank you so much for putting on such a wonderful show today at the Family Picnic at the Cider House. You made the occasion a true celebration of Vermont's marriage equality law.  Many of the people there, including myself, kept saying how that was the best performance of the House of LeMay they've ever seen.  You all have certainly perfected your act.  The humor was hysterical and appropriate.  And your songs were poignant and moving, without being preachy.  It was truly a class act.  And you all looked gorgeous.

The staff at the Cider House was great (we LOVED Kyle!) and the food... great!

After the picnic we headed back into Burlington, Vt. for a cocktail at the VFW where our friends Phil N the Blanks were playing.  Here we are with Phil.

The drummer Glenn (left)is leaving the band. We wish him Good Luck!  And we say "Hello!" to the new drummer Joey!

Then we headed onto (with a stop at Esox - left) Church Street to the Half Lounge for the Funhouse Tea Dance with DJ Moonflower here with Amber.

We ran into Brad - who's starring in the Stowe Theater Guild's production of Footloose and our good friend Michael Cusimano.  He live is in California now and we miss him!!
