Amber and Lucy Belle in Burlington, Vt., Dec. 1st.

posted Monday, 3 December 2007

December 1, 2007

Me and Amber left the Hot Damn Trailor Park in Beaver Pond, Vt. on a cold Saturday evening and arrived in Burlington, Vt. at 6:45pm. We were hired for a Dinner Party to sing a few Christmas Carols. We had a little time on our hands and so we started at the Firehouse Gallery on Church Street for the Vermont CARES reception and reflection for World AIDS Day! They had an evening of speakers, live music, refreshments and a part of the AIDS quilt.

Here's Amber standing by panels representing Ron Connors and Chris Reed.  Ron was one of the most flamboyant boys of Burlington during the late 80's until his death in 1993.  He never got to meet the LeMays - we would've been trouble together!!!  Chris was known as "The Pretzel Guy" for his cart on Church Street.  He was truly one of those who "was loved by all."

Here I am with the panel for our good friend and big fan Tommy Everts.

We ran into some old friends and made some new friends at the event.

Here I am with my friend Peter Jacobsen, the Executive Director of Vermont CARES.  Amber ran into (and tackled) Terje Anderson, the first ED of Vermont CARES and immediate past director of the National Association of People with AIDS.

Here we are with Christine - someone visiting from Nairobi, Kenya.  She really was happy to see us...

Then we left the Gallery and on the way back to our vehicle we saw the lights on in the O'M Salon on the corner of St. Paul and King St. So we stopped in and they were decorating for the Holidays.

We gave them a hand and...

did a little freshing up. We didn't stick around too long because they just did not have any spirts (alcohol). How can you decorate without the spirit.

Finally we arrived at the Party! Had a glass of wine and sang some songs and told a joke or two. It was a group of friends just having dinner and a good time. We fit right in.

We left the Party and decided that it was still early and we needed some REAL Christmas spirit(s).

So, we went back to Church Street!  We went to the 1/2 Lounge for a cocktail. We had the pleasure of listening to the sounds of Borealis Blues...Check out a sample HERE.  We met Rose who is with the group The Magnolias.

We left the 1/2 Lounge and crossed the street to RiRa's. Well did we have FUN!!  Got to see one of our favorite bartenders - Michael!

A lady was turning 31 and having a party and they asked me and Amber to join.

Thank You RiRa (and Bidina!) we had a fun time! Happy Holidays!!

Don't forget to invite us to your Party!!!
