Burlington Winterfest '09

We didn't have much time to participate in this year's Winterfest in Burlington - hey we have a Drag Ball to put together, and, did you hear... VERMONT HAS A GAY BAR!!!!  But Bob sent us some pictures (much like he did last year) from his cruises walks down Church Street.  We were happy to see that our good friends Alex Dostie and Michael Nedell (along with Brooke Monte) entered the snow scupting contest.  They were recently at the international snowsculpting contest in Breckenridge, Colorado. 

On Thursday (2/5), Bob first saw the compacted blocks of snow that would eventually be turned into the finshed sculpted products. 

 

 

The next day, Friday (2/6), he saw the guys as they began to chisel their magic.  On the right is the clay model they used as their guide.

 

Later that evening (6:30), Bob checked in on their progress.  The lighted windows in the picture on the left is the new location of Urban Outfitters that is scheduled to open this Wednesday (2/11). 

By Saturday morning their job was done.

those guys are awesome - will any of them be at the drag ball making live art?
