Ides of March (Latin Idus Martiae) is best known as the date that Julius Caesar was assassinated, in 44 BC, the story of which was famously retold in William Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar.[2] The term has come to be used as a metaphor for impending doom. I found this little article I thought was interesting and reminded me of some of the times we spent on Church St. in Burlington. Us girls in Beaver Pond may have to start us one of these clubs. We do like our drinking games. The Hash House Harriers (abbreviated to HHH or H3) is an international group of social, non-competitive running and drinking clubs. Hashing has frequently been described as 'a drinking club with a running problem', and the social element of hashing is of equal importance to the running. There are more than 1700 kennels with at least one Hash in most major cities in the world. Most hashes gather regularly scheduled basis, with some occurring only sporadically, i.e. on Leap Year days, or Friday the 13th, when that occurs.
There are said to be no rules in hashing, however several traditions have developed with a violation of such severely frowned upon and likely to invoke a punishment by way of a "down-down". A down-down is one of the oldest traditions and is a means of punishing or rewarding pretty much anything. Upon being called to do a down-down the accused must come to the middle of the circle and drink everything that they have in their vessel (generally a cup, mug, or other drinking device). They must do this without pause until they have consumed the whole quantity of drink (typically beer, but it can be of any drink they may have with them) or they must pour the remaining contents over their head. I will let you know if we start up this club. But I remember last years Drag Ball the theme was "Beware The Ides of Drag". A lot of folks were dressed in togas and some just small pieces of material. It was a fun night. You can check out more pictures on our website. Drag Ball XII. Here are a few fun pictures from that night at Higher Ground.

Maybe instead of the Ides of March it should be the Ides of Amber!! That is the reason we have our own Amber Alert System back in Beaver Pond, Vt. To alert the men when Amber LeMay has been drinking too much Vodka and is ovulating.
Amber thought she would give him a hand. Amber Alert!!
Precious spinning the records for all of us. Great Job as always!!
