Looking Back - February 2008

posted Tuesday, 2 December 2008

Continuing with our look back at 2008...   (click on the bold titles to refresh your memory).  The number in parenthesis indicates the number of clicks/reads that the blog post had received as of 12/17/08.

2008 was a Leap Year giving us one more day in February for craziness... and we used it.

DRAG BALL

For the sixth year, we were the producers/hosts of the Winter is a Drag Ball.  But for us, the fun started a few weeks early.  The date was Saturday, February 2, but we called it The Day That Margaurite LeMay Gets a Tattoo! (1,002).  But, we were all dressed up in the big city of Burlington so we decided to do some Shopping for Drag Ball (646) where we ran into a friend and declared We Love Peter! (203).  And then it was Saturday Night in Burlington with the Babes of Beaver Pond (484) - we hit a lot of bars and had a LOT of fun!

The next week, to promote Drag Ball, we were at the taping of the Late Night Saturday with Tim Kavanagh show which we featured in two blog posts... Late Night Saturday - On A Thursday (297) and Late Night Saturday - The Links (258).

And then it was time for 2008 - Drag Ball XIII (1,431).  It all was worth it.  We also created A History of Drag Ball

HOLIDAYS

We also celebrated holidays - Chinese New Year with Gung Hay Fat Choy (365) - not hung gay fat boy as I called it and Valentine's Day with Happy V-D!  Hearts and Triangles (187).

BURLINGTON

Then celebrated Vermont's Queen City with the Brrrr-lington Winterfest (253) and one of our favorite days of the year with Mardi Gras 2008 (1,431).

POLITICS  This year was a very busy one politically for us, too, and Mayor Bibs Fisk weighed in on Beaver Pond Town Meeting 2008:  Pumping at Work (647).

I have 2 favorite events for this month. Drag Ball XIII and Mardi Gras 2008 ! I am looking forward to both of these in 2009. I sure hope to see a lot of you at the Drag Ball this year. The theme is "Queen of Hearts" think Alice in Wonderland.
