Looking Back - October 2008

If we thought we had been busy in previous months, October blew us away!!!  The highlight, of course, was our film, "Slingbacks and Syrup" being premiered at the Vermont International Film Festival.  (To read the posts, click on the bolded titles.  The numbers in the parenthesis are the number of "reads" the original post had as of 12/30/09.)

We built the excitement of the film's showing with the official announcement... Slingbacks and Syrup to screen at VT International Film Festival  (169), then we showed you the trailers...Have you seen it?  (149)... then there was the paparazzi.... Back in print!!!  We're in Seven Days!  (133) and Late Night Saturday with Tim Kavanagh...  (175) and then there was THE night... DON'T BLOW IT, VOTE!

That's what we (The League of Drag Queen Voters) were telling anyone who would listen.  First with a reminder...A Message from the LDQV!!!  (131) and then with a very public appearance at the Burlington Farmers Market on a beautiful Saturday afternoon as Amber Gets Out The Vote (170).

If it's Halloween, we're there...Halloween '08 - The Build Up  (217), our special appearance at  Spirits of the Tower  (159), a special greeting with HAPPY HALLOWEEN from Nurse Anne Thrax.  (185), a report from NYC in The Great Pumpkin Has Spoken!  (161), and our tour of the town was chronicled by Pictures from Halloween  (172).

Our NYC reporter reported about the Gay Erotic Expo, NYC '08...PICTURES OF HOT MEN!!!!  (544) and we attended Another Uniform Party!!!  (312).

DOWN MEMORY LANE

Something that we're thinking of reviving is a group called Sisters of the Swish!!!  (148) and one of our favorite childhood toys was remembered with Everyone wants a Slinky!!  (151).

PEOPLE UPDATES

We kept you up-to-date with our (infamous) friend Mikey Update  (143) and was reminded of a (famous) friend from many years ago in Hedda Lettuce - Still fresh, still crisp (182)
