For Immediate Release: Mayor Bibs Fisk at the Democratic National Convention
DENVER, CO- Bibs Fisk, Mayor of Beaver Pond, Vermont, is in Denver, Colorado this week attending the Democratic National Convention as a pledged delegate to Senator Hillary Clinton. "It is a great honor to be representing the citizens of Beaver Pond at this year's national convention. While Hillary may not come out of this convention as our candidate for the presidency, I look forward to participating in this uniquely democratic process," Fisk stated. When asked if she intended to vote for Clinton or presumptive nominee Barack Obama, Fisk replied: "My heart remains with Clinton, and so will my vote. She remains the best candidate for the job and I intend to join her other supporters at the convention in putting her name into nomination." While acknowledging that putting Clinton's name into nomination was more symbolic at this point, Fisk added, "If Obama screws this up, I'll be right back to supporting Hillary in 2012." This is Fisk's first time as a delegate to a national convention. She is joined there by veteran party activists such as Vermont Secretary of State Deb Markowitz, former Vermont Governor Madeleine Kunin, and former Vermont Governor and current chairman of the national Democratic Party Committee Howard Dean. Kunin, also a pledged delegate to Clinton, said of Mayor Fisk, "Bibs is a strong woman and an asset to our party. I expect to see her on Vermont's political stage, if not the national stage, for years to come." Also at the convention, but not as a delegate, is Vermont Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gaye Symington. Symington is there, with the help of Fisk, to network and drum up financial support for her campaign. Fisk and Symington, who first became acquainted while working on Hillary Clinton's Vermont presidential primary campaign, have joined forces to make sure that Symington takes the governor's office this fall. Fisk, while widely believed to be the impetus behind Symington's recent makeover, noted, "I'm not just in the business of plucking eyebrows you know, I'm a shrewd political strategist and policy adviser as well." Fisk, as well as the rest of Vermont's delegation, will remain in Denver through Thursday when Obama is expected to accept the party's nomination.

I hope Bibs spreads the word about the League of Drag Queen Voters...
The League of Drag Queen Voters is a nonpartisan organization. Bibs is far
from nonpartisan!
In the same way that Bibs might not be personally nonpartisan, no one is
actually nonpartisan. However, I am sure that any work she does promoting
the League of Drag Queen Voters will only be to encourage people to vote,
no matter what their political affiliation or choice of candidate.
