Mayor Bibs Fisk Warns Consumer's of
Potentially Toxic Aqua Dots Children’s Toy
For Immediate Release: Nov. 13, 2007
Beaver Pond – Mayor Bibs Fisk, in conjunction with the Vermont Department of Health is warning consumers about Aqua Dots, a beaded children’s toy coated with a chemical that can turn toxic if ingested, and may cause children to become comatose, develop respiratory depression (low or shallow breathing with inadequate oxygen), or have seizures, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). When ingested by adults, the chemical may cause arousal, “come hither” sleepiness, and an involuntary spreading of the legs. Manufactures of Aqua Dots have admitted that the product is indeed made with a chemical that turns into the so-called “date rape” drug if swallowed by adults.According to Mayor Fisk, the product was discovered today at Tikes n’ Tots on Beaver Drag in Beaver Pond. Nonetheless, the Mayor’s office said not to worry, as Amber LeMay reportedly purchased all the remaining boxes of the product. Aqua Dots, manufactured in China, were recalled by the distributor, Spin Master of Toronto, Canada, on Nov. 7. About 4.2 million units of the product were distributed. Anyone who has already purchased the product, originally retailing for $19.99, can contact Spin Master to return for free replacement beads or a toy of equal value at (800) 622-8339 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
Amber LeMay is reportedly willing to take the product off your hands for $29.99.

See what happens when you eat the dots!!
