Last Friday (4/25/08) on National Public Radio's Marketplace program, they did a story on "Gay Bars Adjusting to a New Reality." It was prompted by a recent article in Fortune Magazine that listed "gay bars" as one of the top ten businesses that are headed to extinction. (Sorry, I can't find a link to that article). However last September entrepreneur.com did a similar list and, yep, they agree, that gay bars are going the way of... gay bars! Vermont was ahead of that trend... with Pearls closing in June of 2006. You can read the transcript of the radio piece by clicking on the link above.
BTW - we LOVE NPR... especially since The House was featured last July.
