The 1/9 Miler, a benefit run.

posted Sunday, 25 January 2009

Yep, This is Anita Niner reporting here! Amber and Margaurite, the Sisters LeMay and myself came all the way from Beaver Pond, Vt to run in the 1/9th Miler, a short run to benefit Forever Young Treehouses. We love helping out in any way we can.

Magic Hat was a sponsor (that's Stacey from MH on the left) along with B-Scene where our friend Ben (right) works.  To check out Ben's pix, click HERE.

We met on Church St. to register (and get a t-shirt!).

There was plenty of time before the "race" so we stopped into MAC Pro, the new cosmetic store, to warm up and check out the makeup.  We saw our friend Marli working, she also works at Old Gold, another one of our favorite stores to shop. They carry the Dame Edna line. People say that Amber and Dame Edna look a lot alike.

But,we also had to stop in at Ken's Pub for a little fuel before the race, too...

The crowd started gathering in front of the Burlington Town Center at around 2pm. We saw a lot of friendly faces and made some new friends too.

Then the race was on. We ran right on down to Leunigs Bistro for a cocktail. It was COLD outside! Leunigs raised the most money for this event so they won the 1/9 Trophy. Great Job Guys and Gals!!  Many local bars had teams and we went to a few of them to have a cocktail with friends and to warm up.

Our next stop - bar #3 for those keeping count - was RiRa.  We found out that our friend and manager of RiRa - Scott - will be moving on to the Portsmouth, NH property.  And we welcomed the new manager, Adam, who comes to us from Portland, Maine.

While we were in RiRa it started to snow!!!  So we headed on over to 3 Needs (stop #4).  You can keep track of the number of drinks Amber had by the "drink counters" in her hair.  By the end of the day she looked like a gay porcupine - not that there's anything wrong with that!

While at the Needs, Lucy was happy to point out to Troy, the bartender, our pictures in last week's B Scene.

Next stop was next door to Finnigan's Pub... new fans!!!

Our last stop... whew!  Was at Esox.  Our friend Tracy bartends there every Sunday from 4-7pm.  Our buddies Bob, Mike and Johnnie are usually there... but were unusually absent on this day... hmmm.  But Valerie was there!!! That's why Tracy's smiling!!!

Also at Esox was Patrick and Craig (who had been with us most of the day).

We had a LOT of fun and look forward to next year's event!!!
