It started at 6:02pm on Friday when DJ Rob Douglas posted this status on MyFaceSpaceBook : Rob is a bit nervous for the soft opening of "Two Friends Bistro."
If Rob is pushing this, it MUST be fun... So I "commented"... "Tell me more..."... with his response and from what I heard from others... THIS GOING TO BE A GAY BAR!!! And tonight, February 6, 2009, it had it's "soft" opening..... YEAH!!!!! Soft is better than nothing!
But.... I couldn't go... (I have my "treatments" on Friday evenings), but after Bob got done with his Karaoke gig at the St. John's Club, he and Johnnie checked things out. YES, VERMONT HAS A GAY BAR!!!
It's located located on Williston Road in South Burlington right in front of Higher Ground , behind Quiznos... click HERE for specifics.
The owners - two friends, Rick and Tim, are taking it slow, but it will be a Bistro with lunch and dinner menus with Rob Douglas doing the dancing duties on Friday and Saturdays.
Rick promises that the bar will stay open every night to 2am... and that they are there to stay. YEAH!!!!
Check it out, say hello. They can't stay open unless YOU'RE there!!!
Question... Vermont hasn't had a gay bar in... five years? Is there a state that doesn't have a "gay' bar? And when was the last time a gay bar opened in the United States?

This is great. Have fun!!
Shooka Dooka closed in March of 2006 and 135 Pearl closed on June 03, 2006,
so it's been 2 years and 7 months till Two Friends Bistro opened.
